Yes. Microsoft-hosted Business Central Online environments are connected using supported authentication and API methods. Once the Commercium app is installed and the environment is authorized, you select the company or companies you want to connect and begin mapping fields, locations and channels.

Can you integrate Business Central On-Premises?

Yes. Self-managed deployments are connected using your customer-specific API and OData endpoints. Because on-premises environments vary, we review which endpoints are reachable and which pages or queries need publishing before configuring the workflows.

Do you support partner-hosted Business Central?

Yes. Environments hosted and managed by Microsoft partners, private-cloud providers or managed-service providers are supported. Your hosting model should not limit your ability to connect Business Central with new sales channels and operational systems.

Does the integration use REST APIs or OData?

Both, and often a combination. REST APIs cover supported standard entities such as companies, items, customers, vendors, sales orders, purchase orders, inventory and shipments. OData web services are used when a standard endpoint does not exist, when custom fields are involved, or when a custom page or query must be exposed. We evaluate your environment and choose the appropriate method rather than forcing one approach.

Must I install a Business Central app?

Yes. Customers start by installing the Commercium app in their Business Central environment — it provides the configuration layer that connects Business Central to the Commercium platform. Depending on the workflow and deployment, you may also need to publish or enable the applicable OData web services, and we help you do that.

Can Commercium work with custom fields?

Yes. Commercium can read and write supported custom fields and map them to marketplace and ecommerce attributes. Where a custom field is not exposed through a standard REST endpoint, we use an OData page or query instead.

Can it integrate with custom Business Central extensions?

In most cases, yes — including partner-developed modules, Marketplace apps and per-tenant extensions. Rather than promising automatic compatibility with every custom module, our team reviews your extensions, custom objects and exposed endpoints to determine the appropriate integration approach.

Can I connect multiple Business Central companies?

Yes. You can connect multiple companies within an environment and keep separate mappings, credentials and synchronization rules for each. Locations are mapped independently per company, so records are never synchronized to the wrong company.

What is the difference between a tenant, environment and company?

A tenant is your organization and its Business Central service boundary. An environment is a production or sandbox instance within that tenant. A company is a separate legal or accounting entity inside an environment, and several companies can exist in the same environment. Locations sit inside companies and identify where inventory is held, with bins and zones describing the warehouse structure within a location.

Can inventory be synchronized from selected locations?

Yes. Inventory is synchronized by Business Central Location Code. You can combine inventory from selected locations, exclude particular locations from online availability, assign different locations to different channels, and maintain safety-stock buffers per channel.

Do you support bins and advanced warehouse processes?

Inventory is synchronized by location, and Commercium supports the warehouse and bin processes configured within those locations — warehouse receipts and shipments, picks and put-aways, bins and zones, transfer orders and inventory movements. The exact scope depends on your setup and required workflows.

Can we test the integration in a sandbox?

Yes, and we recommend it. Sandbox environments are connected separately from production with their own credentials, mappings and synchronization rules, so you can validate every workflow end to end before activating production.

Which Business Central versions do you support?

Commercium works with supported Business Central versions across Online, On-Premises and partner-hosted deployments. Because available endpoints differ by version and deployment, we confirm your version and exposed APIs or web services during the review and select the REST or OData approach that fits.

Can one Business Central company connect to multiple marketplaces?

Yes. A single company can supply many channels at once — marketplaces, ecommerce stores and retail systems — with channel-specific product rules, inventory locations and order routing configured per channel.

Can different companies connect to different sales channels?

Yes. This is a common setup for international operations: a US company selling on Amazon US and Walmart, a UK company on Amazon UK and Mirakl marketplaces, an Australian company on Shopify AU and THE ICONIC. Each company keeps its own orders, inventory, currency, tax configuration and fulfilment mappings, with central visibility through Commercium.
