About the integration

What Commercium solves between Business Central and Faire

Faire is a wholesale marketplace built for brands, not a system your finance and operations team edits directly, every listing, price, order, shipment, cancellation and return is an API operation. Business Central is where your items, prices, inventory and sales orders already live, often across more than one company. Commercium keeps the two in step, so your team stops calling the Faire API by hand and stops re-entering wholesale orders every time stock, price, a cancellation or a return changes.

The problem

Items, wholesale pricing, orders, cancellations and returns live in separate places

Selling on Faire means keeping your Business Central items and location-level stock in step with what Faire's brand API shows, by hand, on top of wholesale-specific rules Business Central was never built for.

·New listings created one API call at a time, with wholesale price and RRP entered twice
·Price and stock changes made twice, once in Business Central and once on Faire
·Out-of-stock items left live on Faire until a retailer orders them anyway
·Wholesale orders re-entered from the Faire brand portal into Business Central sales orders
·Cancellations approved on Faire but never reflected in Business Central inventory
·Returns and credit memos tracked in a spreadsheet instead of against the order

About the platforms

What Faire is, and what Business Central brings to the connection

Faire is a B2B wholesale marketplace where independent retailers discover and reorder from brands. Business Central is the ERP where those items, prices, stock and sales orders actually live. Between them, selling on Faire from Business Central is mostly a data-movement problem, which is what Commercium is built to run.

REST API
Faire External API for brand product, order & shipment data

A wholesale marketplace, not a consumer one

Faire connects brands with independent retailers, boutiques, gift shops, grocers, salons and homeware stores. Buyers must be verified retail businesses, so every order is a wholesale order at wholesale pricing, usually with a minimum.

Faire carries the payment risk

Eligible retailers get 60-day payment terms and free returns on opening orders, while the brand is paid on its own payout schedule. That underwriting is a large part of what the commission buys.

Prepacks, minimums and case packs

Wholesale catalogues carry structures retail catalogues do not: case packs, assorted prepacks, order minimums, per-retailer terms and a wholesale price alongside the suggested retail price.

Brands fulfil their own orders

You ship each order yourself, either using a Faire-generated label or your own carrier account. Faire expects a ship-by date, tracking and, when you ship on your own, the shipping cost.

Discovery is the product

Retailers browse Faire the way consumers browse a marketplace. Your brand page, imagery, lead time and minimums are merchandising, which is why catalogue quality matters more here than on a channel where buyers search for a known SKU.

An API built for brand systems

Faire's External API covers products and variants, inventory by SKU, orders, shipments and returns, with idempotency tokens on writes and OAuth for newer integrations, which is what makes a clean two-way sync possible.

What Faire charges brands
15%
Marketplace orders

Standard commission on orders from retailers Faire introduced you to, first order and reorders alike.

+ one-time
New customer fee

A one-off charge the first time a retailer discovers you on the marketplace: a flat $10 for North American brands, or a 10% referral fee for brands outside North America (25% all-in on that first order).

0%
Faire Direct orders

Retailers you bring yourself through your own Faire Direct link order at 0% commission, you still pay payment processing.

Rates are Faire's published brand pricing and can change, always confirm the current terms in your Faire brand account. Commercium reads what Faire actually charged on each payout, so your books follow the real numbers rather than an assumed rate.

What to know about Business Central

An ERP, not a storefront

Business Central holds the financial and operational truth of the business: items, prices, inventory by location, customers, vendors and sales orders, inside one or more companies within a single environment.

Companies and environments

A single Business Central tenant can hold multiple companies (legal entities) across production and sandbox environments, and a Faire connection has to point at the right one, every time.

Access runs through Azure AD

Connecting to Business Central means registering an app in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and granting it API permissions; there is no username-and-password login for the API itself.

Items carry dimensions

Business Central items carry unit of measure, item category and, often, dimensions such as department, project or location, fields most storefronts and marketplaces don't have room for.

Locations model your real warehouses

Inventory in Business Central is tracked per location, which is exactly what a wholesale buffer or a per-warehouse fulfilment split should map onto, instead of a single flattened stock number.

Sales orders are the source of truth

Once an order is posted, Business Central tracks it through shipment, invoicing and, if needed, credit memos, so a Faire order needs to land as a proper sales order, not a row in a spreadsheet.

The Business Central data we work with
Items Items & prices Item no., description, category, unit of measure and sales price read and, where you choose, written back from a connected channel.
Inventory Availability by location Quantity on hand read per location, with wholesale-specific buffers applied before it ever reaches Faire.
Orders Sales orders Faire retailer orders created as Business Central sales orders with the correct sell-to, ship-to and line items.
Warehouse Shipments Posted warehouse and sales shipments read for carrier, tracking and dispatch detail, then pushed to Faire.
Reverse Credit memos Faire returns turned into Business Central credit memos, matched to the original sales order line.
Access Entra ID (Azure AD) app OAuth 2.0 authentication scoped to the environment and companies you choose, no shared logins.
How it works

From demo to a live Faire wholesale channel

Six steps from the first conversation to a controlled go-live, credentials on both sides, platform connections, mapping and a real order dry run before your catalogue goes live.

Step 1 of 6

Book a demo & scope the setup

Tell us what you sell wholesale, how your Business Central environment is structured, whether you run a single company or several, and whether Business Central sits alongside other storefronts or marketplaces. We walk the whole integration on a live call and tell you what your setup will actually look like.

Which flows you need: product, inventory, orders, shipment, reverse, price, cancel
Which Business Central company and environment orders should land in
Wholesale vs list pricing and stock policy
Plan category confirmed before you subscribe
Step 2 of 6

Get your Faire API credentials

Faire reviews your brand application and issues an App ID and API Access Token through the Faire Developer Portal once approved. Have those credentials, your product category structure, wholesale price and minimum order rules, and warehouse or location IDs ready before the build starts.

Faire Brand App ID and API Access Token
Product category structure
Wholesale price and minimum order rules
Warehouse or location IDs
Step 3 of 6

Register the Commercium app in Azure AD

Register the Commercium app in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and grant it API permissions to your Business Central environment. Commercium connects with OAuth 2.0, scoped to the environment and companies you choose, with no username or password stored.

App registered in Microsoft Entra ID
Business Central API permissions granted
Production and sandbox kept separate
Company confirmed before any sync runs
Step 4 of 6

Connect Faire and Business Central in Commercium

Your integration engineer connects Faire and Business Central in Commercium. Onboarding takes 1 to 2 hours once the details are provided, and the connection is locked to the company and environment you confirmed.

Faire credentials connected
Business Central environment and company selected
Connection scoped before any live data moves
Step 5 of 6

Map catalogue, pricing & operations

We map item no. and category data, wholesale and RRP pricing, locations, carriers, and cancellation and return reason codes, so Faire listings and Business Central documents stay the same record.

Item no., category and attributes
Wholesale price and suggested retail price
Locations, carriers, cancellations and returns
Step 6 of 6

Test, publish & go live

We test in a sandbox environment, covering listings, stock and price updates, orders, shipment confirmations, a sample cancellation and a sample return, before anything touches a live retailer order or your production company. Then Commercium runs the workflows on schedule.

Sandbox listings, stock and price updates
Sample order, shipment, cancellation and return

Field experience

What we learnt while integrating Business Central and Faire for our users

Working notes from live Business Central and Faire operations, the things that decide whether a wholesale channel runs quietly, and how each one became automation inside Commercium.

Company and environment choice decides how the whole sync is wired

A Business Central tenant can hold several companies and both a production and a sandbox environment. Get the company or environment wrong once and a Faire test order can post against the wrong legal entity, or a live order can land in sandbox and never ship. Commercium locks a Faire connection to one confirmed company and environment during setup, and every sync run is scoped to it, so there is no ambiguity about where an order, credit memo or item update is going.

Sandbox testing kept fully separate from production

Most brands ship Faire orders themselves, and want the shipping money back

Faire gives brands two ways to fulfil: print a Faire label, or ship on your own with your own carrier account. Brands running fulfilment out of Business Central, with negotiated carrier rates or a 3PL, almost always choose their own label, and then have to submit the shipping cost and tracking number on every order to be reimbursed on the payout. Commercium reads the posted warehouse shipment, aggregates multi-parcel orders, sends cost and tracking back with the shipment and then matches what Faire actually reimbursed on the payout.

What you pay Faire depends on who the retailer is

Faire's commission is not one number across your order book. Orders from retailers the marketplace introduced carry the standard commission, with a one-off new-customer fee on that retailer's first order. Retailers you bring in yourself through Faire Direct carry no commission at all. Commercium reads the fees Faire actually charged on each payout line and posts commission, new-customer fees, reimbursements and processing separately into Business Central.

Item numbers, not SKUs, drive matching in Business Central

Business Central identifies an item by its "No." field, which does not always match the SKU or barcode a wholesale team thinks in. Commercium maps Business Central item no., variant code and barcode to the identifiers Faire expects on the listing, so matching stays exact on every sync, in both directions.

5Failures queued with reasons

Wholesale can empty your retail shelf

A single wholesale order moves more units than a week of DTC. We publish from the location that owns stock with a wholesale-specific buffer, so one channel cannot strip the other.

Prepacks and minimums are catalogue structure, not notes

Case packs, assorted prepacks and order minimums change what a "unit" means. Modelling them properly in the mapping keeps Business Central quantities and Faire quantities the same number.

Two prices, one item

Faire needs a wholesale price and a suggested retail price. Holding that as a rule per channel rather than a typed value stops margin drift when your sales price changes in Business Central.

Ship-by dates are a merchandising signal

Your stated lead time appears on your brand page and sets retailer expectation. Wiring shipment confirmation to the Business Central warehouse dispatch event keeps the promise and the data in step.

Reorders are where the money is

The economics of Faire improve with every reorder from the same retailer, so in-stock accuracy, fast dispatch and correct tracking are commercial levers, not hygiene.

Get access sorted on both sides before the build

Faire brand approval and a Business Central Azure AD app registration usually sit with two different people, brand ops and IT. Starting both conversations on day one keeps a go-live measured in days rather than weeks.

Working notes from our integration team, we update this section as Faire's and Business Central's requirements change.

Can Commercium help new Business Central users connect to marketplaces?
Yes. Commercium works with Business Central users during onboarding to prepare item data, connect companies and locations, configure mappings and set up the operational workflows a new marketplace requires.
Can I connect more than one Faire brand account using Commercium?
Yes, you can add as many Faire brand accounts as you want while remaining on your same plan using Commercium. You only upgrade when you cross your plan's order limits.
Can I connect more than one Business Central company or environment using Commercium?
Yes, you can add as many Business Central companies or environments as you want while remaining on your same plan, useful for multi-entity or multi-region groups. You only upgrade when you cross your plan's order limits.
What are the next steps to connect Faire to Business Central using Commercium?
Six steps. First, book a demo with Commercium and tell us how your Faire brand account is set up and how your Business Central companies, environments and locations are structured. Second, get your Faire API credentials ready: your Faire Brand App ID and API Access Token, your product category structure, wholesale price and minimum order rules, and warehouse or location IDs. Third, register the Commercium app in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and grant it API permissions to your Business Central environment. Fourth, meet your integration engineer, who connects Faire and Business Central and maps item no. and category data, wholesale and RRP pricing, locations, carriers, cancellation and return reason codes; onboarding takes 1 to 2 hours once the details are provided. Fifth, test in a sandbox environment, covering listings, stock and price updates, orders, shipment confirmations, a sample cancellation and a sample return, before anything touches a live retailer order or your production company. Sixth, go live, and Commercium runs the workflows on schedule and flags anything that needs attention.
Which flows does Commercium sync between Business Central and Faire?
Product sync, inventory sync, order sync, shipment sync, reverse (return) sync, price sync and cancel sync, with returns flowing from source to destination. Which of these run and how they're configured is set up per account, based on how your current Faire listings and Business Central setup are structured.
Does Faire require brand approval before Commercium can connect?
Yes. Faire reviews your brand application and issues an App ID and API Access Token through the Faire Developer Portal once approved; Commercium connects using those credentials as soon as they're available.
How does Commercium authenticate with Business Central?
Through an app registered in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) with API permissions granted to your Business Central environment. Commercium connects using OAuth 2.0, scoped to the environment and companies you choose, with no username or password stored.
How is wholesale price and suggested retail price handled between Business Central and Faire?
Commercium maps your Business Central sales price to Faire's wholesale price field, and derives the suggested retail price (RRP) using a markup or percentage rule you define once, so every listing carries both figures without being priced twice by hand.
How are Faire returns reflected in Business Central?
Return requests raised on Faire are pulled in, matched to the original sales order line, and turned into a credit memo on the Business Central order, with the processed status pushed back to Faire once complete.
How are Faire order cancellations handled?
Cancellations raised on Faire, by the retailer or by Faire itself on a minimum-order violation, are matched to the Business Central sales order, the order is cancelled and reserved stock is released. Cancellations you raise in Business Central are pushed back to Faire the same way.
How does Commercium handle stockouts and delisting on Faire?
When Business Central stock for a listed item reaches zero across the connected locations, Commercium updates or removes the corresponding Faire listing on the next sync cycle, so sold-out items come down automatically.
Does Commercium work with multiple Business Central companies and locations?
Yes. Commercium connects through Business Central's standard OData v4 API per environment and company, with per-location stock rolled up or filtered per your rules before it reaches Faire.
Does Commercium support minimum order quantity and case pack rules?
Yes. Minimum order value, minimum order quantity and case-pack settings can be mapped per listing, so Faire enforces the same ordering rules you intend, instead of being left at a default.
How does Commercium handle Business Central item variants when listing on Faire?
Each Business Central item variant is mapped to its own Faire listing option using its own item no. or barcode, wholesale price and stock, with shared parent data such as title, brand and images carried across the variant set.
Is there a free trial available?
Yes. Commercium offers a 28-day free trial, and no credit card is required to get started.
Can I sell on multiple marketplaces using Commercium?

Yes. Commercium supports more than 200 marketplaces, retailers, ecommerce platforms, ERPs, and other commerce systems.

You can connect and manage multiple sales channels through a single Commercium subscription without purchasing a separate connector for each platform. Some enterprise and ERP integrations may require a higher-tier plan.

Does every order I receive on any channel get counted against my plan order limit?

No, we only count those orders against your plan order limit that you receive via sales channels that you have connected using Commercium.

For example, suppose you already run Business Central and use Commercium to connect three additional marketplaces. In that case, only orders received from those three marketplaces will count toward your Commercium order limit. Your existing Business Central sales orders will not be counted unless they are also processed through a channel connected to Commercium.

Most supported platforms can be added without paying a separate per-connector fee, provided they are covered by your current plan category.

How frequently does the data sync happen between the connected platforms?
Inventory sync happens near real-time. Most other data including products, prices, orders, fulfilment updates, and tracking information is typically synchronized within 5-10 minutes.
What happens when I cross my plan limit?

Once you cross your plan limit, your data sync remains active and everything keeps working as usual. We send you a monthly overage invoice that you can pay from within your Commercium portal within 7 days of the invoice issue date.

You can also upgrade to a higher plan later if you continuously cross your plan's limits, because it saves you money since higher volume plans cost less.

Can I connect my shipping platform with Commercium?

Yes. Commercium supports shipping, fulfilment, and 3PL platforms such as ShipStation, Veeqo, ShipHero, Amazon MCF, and others.

This allows you to send orders for fulfilment and synchronize shipment and tracking information with your connected sales channels.

Can I connect my ERP & accounting software too with Commercium?

Yes. Commercium supports accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero, as well as ERP systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, Acumatica, NetSuite, and others.

These integrations can synchronize products, inventory, pricing, orders, fulfilment information, and accounting data, depending on the capabilities of each connected system.

What kind of support does Commercium offer?

Commercium provides support through chat, phone calls, screen-sharing sessions, and WhatsApp. Every plan also includes free onboarding to help you configure your account and connected platforms.

The support channels and service levels available may vary by plan.

Why are there 3 different types of pricing plans?

Commercium offers three pricing categories based on the types of systems included in your integration setup:

Ecommerce pricing applies when your setup includes only platforms classified as standard ecommerce integrations. Enterprise pricing applies when your setup includes an enterprise marketplace, retailer, fulfilment network, or another platform classified as an enterprise integration. ERP pricing applies when your setup includes an ERP system such as Business Central, Odoo, Acumatica, or NetSuite.

If your setup includes an Enterprise or ERP integration, the corresponding pricing category will apply. Our team can review your requirements and confirm the appropriate plan before you subscribe.

Still have a question about your setup?
