The problem

A Walmart account run from Seller Center

Walmart holds sellers to strict performance standards on shipping, tracking and cancellations. Without an integration, keeping up means spreadsheets, uploads and someone watching Seller Center all day.

·Items set up by spreadsheet in Seller Center, one category template at a time
·Stock and price files uploaded on a schedule that is always behind reality
·Orders acknowledged and re-keyed into the ERP by hand
·Tracking typed back late, hurting on-time and valid-tracking metrics
·Refunds issued in Walmart but never reflected in the books
·Products without a GTIN left off Walmart altogether
With Commercium

The whole Walmart order lifecycle, automated

Listing through settlement runs on a schedule from the systems that already hold your products, stock, orders and finance data.

Items created, updated, listed and delisted from your own catalog
Near real-time inventory and price updates from the system that owns them
Orders acknowledged and written straight into your ERP, OMS or WMS
Carrier and tracking sent to Walmart the moment the warehouse ships
Refunds and settlement data synced and matched to every order
GTIN-exempt products created with the right identifiers and approvals

How it works

Setting up Walmart in Commercium

Six steps from your Commercium account to live Walmart sync: API keys, platform connections, mapping and go-live.

Step 1 of 6

Start your Commercium account

Start the 28-day free trial or book a demo. Tell us which systems hold your catalog, stock, orders and finance data, whether you ship Walmart orders yourself, use WFS, or both. We confirm the right plan category before you subscribe.

Free trial, no credit card required
Scope call with a Walmart integration specialist
Flows confirmed: product, inventory, order, shipment, cancellation, price, attribute, refund
Fulfilment model confirmed: WFS, seller fulfilled, or both
Step 2 of 6

Generate Walmart API keys

In Walmart Seller Center, open API key management and generate production keys for your seller account. We send you the exact steps and never ask for your Seller Center password.

Seller Center → Settings → API key management
Generate a Client ID & Client Secret
Keep the keys private, share only inside Commercium
Repeat for each seller account you want to connect
Step 3 of 6

Connect Walmart in Commercium

Add Walmart as a channel and paste your Client ID and Client Secret. Commercium validates the connection straight away, reads your ship nodes and shipping templates, and pulls existing items and recent orders so you see real data before anything changes.

Channels → Add channel → Walmart
Paste Client ID & Client Secret
Ship nodes and shipping templates detected
Existing Walmart items matched to your SKUs
Step 4 of 6

Connect your other platforms

Connect the systems Walmart needs to talk to, your ecommerce store, ERP, OMS, WMS, shipping app and accounting platform. Most platforms connect on your existing plan, and your integration engineer does this with you.

Ecommerce store, ERP, OMS or WMS as the order destination
Shipping app or carrier accounts for labels
Accounting platform for refunds and settlements
Multiple Walmart seller accounts on one subscription
Step 5 of 6

Map products, ship nodes & shipping

Map it once so every item and order follows the same rules: product types and attributes, identifiers or GTIN exemption, warehouses to ship nodes, shipping templates per SKU, price source and carrier mapping.

Product type & attribute mapping per category
GTIN / UPC, or GTIN exemption for unbranded items
Warehouse ↔ ship node and stock source
Shipping template per SKU group
Price source, carrier mapping and refund handling
Step 6 of 6

Publish, go live & monitor

Commercium submits your items as Walmart feeds and tracks every feed until each item is processed. Errors come back per item with Walmart’s reason, so you fix data once in Commercium. Then inventory, price, order and shipment sync switch on.

Item feeds submitted and tracked to completion
Item-level errors with Walmart’s reasons
Inventory, price and order sync enabled
First live orders monitored with alerts and retry queue

What Walmart Marketplace is, and what selling on it involves

Walmart Marketplace lets approved third-party sellers list on Walmart.com, one of the most visited retail sites in the US, alongside Walmart’s own range. Sellers manage the account through Seller Center and the Walmart Marketplace API, and fulfil orders themselves or through Walmart Fulfillment Services.

What to know about Walmart

A curated marketplace, not open sign-up

Walmart Marketplace accepts sellers through an application and review. Approved sellers list alongside Walmart’s own retail range on Walmart.com, under their own seller name.

One item page per product

Walmart matches offers to a single item page, keyed on product identifiers such as GTIN or UPC. Products without one can be created through Walmart’s GTIN exemption process.

Product type drives the data

Each product type has its own required and recommended attributes. Complete, accurate attributes decide whether an item publishes and how well it is found.

Two ways to fulfil

Sellers can ship orders from their own warehouses or 3PL, or send stock into Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) and let Walmart pick, pack and ship.

Shipping templates set the promise

Seller-fulfilled items are assigned to shipping templates that define methods, regions and transit times, the delivery date a customer sees comes from them.

Performance is measured

Walmart tracks on-time delivery, valid tracking, cancellations and refunds. Staying inside the standards protects your listings and Buy Box eligibility.

Field experience

What we learnt while integrating Walmart for our users

Working notes from live Walmart Marketplace integrations, the things that decide whether a Walmart account runs quietly, and how each one became automation inside Commercium.

Walmart bulk updates are asynchronous, so we track every feed

Walmart supports bulk, feed-based uploads for products, inventory and prices. A feed is accepted first and processed later: Walmart returns a feed ID, and the result, including which individual items failed and why, only appears when you check the feed status. Feed submissions are also rate-limited. Integrations that fire and forget end up with items that silently never published. Commercium batches updates into feeds within Walmart’s limits, follows each feed ID until it completes, and surfaces item-level errors so only the failed lines are fixed and resent.

Failed lines fixed and resubmitted only
Feed lifecycle

2Feed submitted → feed ID returned
3Feed status checked until processed

Shipping templates set the delivery promise, keep them honest

Walmart supports templated shipping policies for seller-fulfilled items. A shipping template defines shipping methods, such as value, standard, two-day, one-day and freight, along with regions and transit times, and each SKU is assigned to a template. The delivery date a customer sees comes from that template, so a template that promises more than your warehouse can do turns directly into late deliveries. Commercium reads your templates, assigns them per SKU or product group, and keeps freight and oversized items on their own template.

No GTIN doesn’t mean no Walmart listing

Private-label, handmade and bundled products often have no barcode, GTIN or other global identifier, and many sellers assume that rules them out of Walmart. Walmart offers a GTIN exemption path for these products. Items created this way can go through an extra review before they publish, so a feed may finish while the item itself is still pending. Commercium helps you create these products with the exemption, and keeps following each item until its review completes.

Product path
Product without GTIN Commercium GTIN exemption Live on Walmart

Attributes decide if an item publishes

Each Walmart product type has its own required attributes. Most item errors we see are missing or mis-formatted attributes, so we validate against the product type before the feed is sent.

Acknowledge orders quickly

Walmart orders need to be acknowledged before they ship. Acknowledging automatically on import keeps orders moving and avoids them sitting unconfirmed in Seller Center.

Carrier names must match Walmart’s list

Valid tracking depends on carrier names Walmart recognises. We map each carrier and service from your shipping app to Walmart’s accepted values so tracking is counted as valid.

Inventory belongs to a ship node

Sellers with more than one warehouse publish stock per ship node. Sending one pooled number to the wrong node promises stock a warehouse cannot ship; we keep feeds per location.

Refunds are line-level

Walmart refunds and cancels per order line, often partially. Syncing at line level keeps ERP credit memos and stock adjustments matched to exactly what Walmart refunded.

Settlements need order-level detail

A Walmart payout combines sales, fees, commissions and refunds. Matching settlement lines back to individual orders is what makes Walmart revenue reconcile in accounting.

Working notes from our integration team, we update this section as Walmart’s requirements change.

FAQ

Walmart questions, answered

Technical questions about how the Walmart integration works, and general questions about running on Commercium.

Can Commercium create products on Walmart?
Yes. Product sync is available for Walmart, so Commercium creates and maintains your Walmart items from your own catalog, product type and attribute mapping, identifiers, images and descriptions, with price and attribute updates pushed from the same source. You can also list and delist items directly from Commercium without logging into Walmart Seller Center.
Can Walmart orders be sent to my ERP?
Yes. Walmart orders can be transformed and sent to supported ERP, ecommerce, OMS, WMS, accounting or fulfilment systems. Orders are retrieved and acknowledged automatically, and shipments, tracking, cancellations, refunds and settlement data flow between Walmart and your systems from the same connection.
Can Commercium help new Walmart sellers?
Yes. Commercium works with businesses during onboarding to prepare product data, connect systems, configure mappings and establish operational workflows, including mapping your catalog to Walmart product types, setting up ship nodes and shipping templates, and following your first item feeds until they publish.
Can I connect more than one seller account of Walmart using Commercium?
Yes, you can add as many seller accounts as you want while remaining on your same plan using Commercium. You only upgrade when you cross your plan’s order limits.
What are the next steps to connect Walmart using Commercium?

Six steps.

First, start your Commercium account with the 28-day free trial or a demo and confirm your flows and fulfilment model (WFS, seller fulfilled or both). Second, generate a Client ID and Client Secret in Walmart Seller Center under API key management. Third, add Walmart as a channel in Commercium and paste the keys, your ship nodes, shipping templates and existing items are read automatically. Fourth, connect your ecommerce store, ERP, OMS, WMS, shipping and accounting platforms. Fifth, map product types and attributes, identifiers or GTIN exemption, warehouses to ship nodes, shipping templates, price source and carriers. Sixth, publish your items as Walmart feeds, fix any item-level errors, switch on inventory, price and order sync and go live.

Can I list products on Walmart if they don’t have a barcode or GTIN?
Yes. If your products don’t have a barcode, GTIN or other global identifier, Commercium can still help you create them on Walmart using a GTIN exemption. Exempt items can go through an additional Walmart review before they publish, and Commercium keeps tracking each item until that review completes.
Does Commercium support both Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) and seller-fulfilled orders?
Yes. For seller-fulfilled orders, Commercium acknowledges each order, routes it to the right warehouse or 3PL and sends carrier and tracking back to Walmart on dispatch. For WFS orders, Walmart ships and Commercium brings the orders into your ERP and accounting so your sales, stock and finance picture stays complete.
How does Commercium handle Walmart bulk feeds for products, inventory and prices?
Walmart processes bulk product, inventory and price uploads as asynchronous feeds: each submission returns a feed ID and the item-level result arrives later. Commercium batches your updates into feeds within Walmart’s rate limits, tracks each feed until it completes, and shows item-level errors so only the failed lines need fixing and resubmitting.
Does Commercium support Walmart shipping templates?
Yes. Commercium reads the shipping templates configured on your Walmart account and assigns them per SKU or product group, so each seller-fulfilled item carries a delivery promise that matches your warehouse and carriers, including separate templates for freight or oversized items.
How are Walmart cancellations, refunds and settlements handled?
Cancellations raised by the customer or the seller are synced at order-line level and applied in your ERP, OMS, WMS or store, with stock released back to the pool. Refunds are synced line by line with their reasons, and Walmart settlement data, sales, fees, commissions and refunds, is matched to orders for reconciliation in your accounting system.
Is there a free trial available?
Yes. Commercium offers a 28-day free trial, and no credit card is required to get started.
Can I sell on multiple marketplaces using Commercium?
Yes. Commercium supports more than 200 marketplaces, retailers, ecommerce platforms, and other commerce systems.

You can connect and manage multiple sales channels through a single Commercium subscription without purchasing a separate connector for each platform. Some enterprise and ERP integrations may require a higher-tier plan.
Does every order I receive on any channel get counted against my plan order limit?
No. Only orders received through sales channels connected using Commercium count toward your plan order limit.

For example, if you already sell through Shopify and use Commercium to connect three additional marketplaces, only orders received from those three marketplaces count toward your Commercium order limit. Your existing Shopify orders are not counted unless Shopify is also connected to Commercium as a sales channel for order processing.

Most supported platforms can be added without a separate per-connector fee, provided they are covered by your current plan category.
How frequently does data sync happen between connected platforms?
Inventory sync happens near real-time. Most other data, including products, prices, orders, fulfilment updates, and tracking information, is typically synchronized within 5–10 minutes.
What happens when I cross my plan limit?
Once you cross your plan limit, data sync remains active and everything keeps working as usual. We send you a monthly overage invoice that you can pay from within your Commercium portal within seven days of the invoice issue date.

You can also upgrade to a higher plan if you consistently exceed your plan limits, as higher-volume plans can cost less.
Can I connect my shipping platform with Commercium?
Yes. Commercium supports shipping, fulfilment, and 3PL platforms such as ShipStation, Veeqo, ShipHero, Amazon MCF, and others.

This allows you to send orders for fulfilment and synchronize shipment and tracking information with your connected sales channels.
Can I connect my ERP and accounting software with Commercium?
Yes. Commercium supports accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero, as well as ERP systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, Acumatica, NetSuite, and others.

These integrations can synchronize products, inventory, pricing, orders, fulfilment information, and accounting data, depending on the capabilities of each connected system.
What kind of support does Commercium offer?
Commercium provides support through chat, phone calls, screen-sharing sessions, and WhatsApp. Every plan also includes free onboarding to help you configure your account and connected platforms.

The support channels and service levels available may vary by plan.
Why are there three different types of pricing plans?
Commercium offers three pricing categories based on the types of systems included in your integration setup:

Ecommerce pricing applies when your setup includes only platforms classified as standard ecommerce integrations.

Enterprise pricing applies when your setup includes an enterprise marketplace, retailer, fulfilment network, or another platform classified as an enterprise integration.

ERP pricing applies when your setup includes an ERP system such as Business Central, Odoo, Acumatica, or NetSuite.

If your setup includes an Enterprise or ERP integration, the corresponding pricing category will apply. Our team can review your requirements and confirm the appropriate plan before you subscribe.
