The features

What Commercium automates

Acumatica → eBay

Product sync

Acumatica stock items and matrix items are listed on eBay in the right category, with images, item specifics from attributes, identifiers, business policies and multi-variation listings.

Acumatica → eBay

Inventory sync

Available quantity from the Acumatica warehouses you pick is pooled, buffered and pushed to every eBay listing, with an optional cap on the quantity shown.

eBay → Acumatica

Order sync

Paid eBay orders land in Acumatica as sales orders with the right order type, customer and warehouse, the eBay order number stored and eBay-collected tax kept separate.

Acumatica → eBay

Shipment sync

When a shipment is confirmed in Acumatica, the carrier and tracking number are uploaded to eBay and the order is marked as shipped within your handling time.

Acumatica → eBay

Price sync

The Acumatica item price, or a sales price you keep for eBay, plus any per-site rule updates your eBay listing price whenever it changes, within the minimum and maximum you set.

Both directions

Cancel sync

Buyer cancellation requests on eBay cancel the Acumatica sales order; lines you cannot ship are cancelled on eBay from Acumatica with a reason.

How it works

From demo to a live eBay channel on Acumatica

Seven steps from the first conversation to a controlled go-live: preparing your eBay account, Acumatica and eBay connections, category, item specifics, price, order and cancellation configuration, then a verified test before you go live.

Step 1 of 7

Book a demo & scope the setup

Tell us how you sell on eBay today, which eBay sites you sell on, and how Acumatica is set up: companies, branches, warehouses and item structure. We walk through the integration on a live call and show you how Acumatica and eBay will work together.

Flows confirmed: product, inventory, price, order, shipment and cancel
Which eBay sites and seller accounts are involved
New listings, existing listings, or both
Which Acumatica warehouses feed eBay stock and what buffer to hold
How eBay orders should be created in Acumatica (order type, customer, branch, tax)
Plan and integration requirements confirmed before you subscribe
Step 2 of 7

Prepare your eBay seller account

Commercium connects to your existing eBay seller account. We help you check that it is ready for an integration before anything is connected.

Business seller account active with payouts set up
Payment, return and shipping business policies created
Selling limits checked for your first listings
Handling time and carriers reviewed
Step 3 of 7

Log in to the Commercium portal

You get access to the Commercium portal, where connections, mappings, sync logs and alerts live for both systems.

Portal account created for your team
Users invited with the right roles
Notification email for sync, listing and seller-standard alerts set
Step 4 of 7

Connect Acumatica in Commercium

Commercium connects to Acumatica through its contract-based REST API, using a connected application or an integration user you create with the right access rights.

Instance URL, company and endpoint version confirmed
Connected application or integration user created
Access to stock items, warehouses, prices, customers, sales orders and shipments approved
Test read of items and warehouses
Step 5 of 7

Authorise Commercium with eBay

You sign in to eBay and give Commercium consent for your seller account, so it can work with listings, orders, shipments and cancellations.

Commercium authorised for your eBay seller account
Existing eBay listings matched to Acumatica inventory IDs by SKU
Categories and item specifics loaded for each site
Open orders reviewed before first import
Step 6 of 7

Configure listings, prices, orders & cancellations

We map how each record moves between the two systems so your warehouse and finance teams see exactly what they expect.

Acumatica item classes mapped to eBay categories and item specifics
Matrix items, variation listings and identifiers set up
Warehouses pooled, safety buffer and handling time set
Price source and rules per eBay site with minimum and maximum prices
Business policies, order type, customer, branch and tax handling
Ship via mapping and cancellation rules agreed
Step 7 of 7

Test, verify & go live

Every flow is run on real data before switching on: a listing published, stock and price pushed, a test order imported and shipped, and a cancellation closed on both sides.

Listing live on eBay with no errors
Stock and price changes seen on eBay within minutes
Test order created as an Acumatica sales order
Shipment confirmed, tracking uploaded and order marked shipped
Cancellation reflected on both sides
Go-live date agreed and sync switched on
About the platforms

Acumatica and eBay, and what connecting them actually involves

One is your ERP: items, warehouse stock, sales orders, shipments and the books. The other is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, where every listing needs the right category and item specifics and every order counts towards your seller standards. The work of the combo sits in between.

Acumatica

Your ERP & system of record

Acumatica is a cloud ERP used by product businesses in distribution, manufacturing, retail and commerce. Products live as stock items, often grouped under matrix items for size and colour, stock is tracked per warehouse, sales move through sales orders, shipments and invoices, and everything is reachable through the contract-based REST API. For eBay sellers running on Acumatica, it already holds the cleanest item, stock and cost data they own, which makes it the natural engine for a marketplace channel.

eBay

Global marketplace · new, used & refurbished

eBay is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, founded in 1995, with more than 130 million active buyers and local sites such as eBay.com, eBay.co.uk, eBay.de and eBay.com.au. Sellers list new, used and refurbished items, mostly as fixed-price listings, in categories that each have their own required and recommended item specifics. eBay manages buyer payments and pays sellers out, and every seller is measured against eBay’s seller standards, including transaction defect rate, late shipment rate and tracking uploaded on time.

How Acumatica concepts map onto eBay
AcumaticaeBayWhat Commercium does
Matrix item with variants eBay listing with variationsEach Acumatica matrix item becomes one eBay listing with a variation for each matrix variant, within eBay’s variation limits; standalone stock items become single listings. We agree the structure during onboarding.
Item class eBay categoryAcumatica item classes are mapped to eBay categories on each site, which decide which item specifics each listing must carry.
Inventory ID / barcode eBay SKU & product identifiersThe Acumatica inventory ID becomes the eBay SKU and the item’s barcode or cross-reference is sent as the UPC, EAN or ISBN eBay asks for, so orders map back to the exact stock item.
Quantities per warehouse Available quantityAvailable quantities from the selected Acumatica warehouses are pooled into one figure, with a safety buffer, and pushed per SKU.
Default price / sales price Listing priceThe Acumatica default price, or a sales price you keep for eBay, becomes the eBay listing price, with an optional per-site markup or currency conversion, always inside your minimum and maximum.
Attributes Item specificsBrand, size, colour, material, model and other item specifics live in Acumatica attributes or item fields and are converted to the values eBay recommends for that category.
Sales order Paid eBay orderPaid eBay orders are created as Acumatica sales orders with the agreed order type, customer, branch and warehouse, eBay-collected tax recorded separately and the eBay order number stored as the external reference.
Shipment & packages Shipping fulfilment & trackingThe Acumatica ship via code is mapped to a carrier eBay recognises and tracking from the shipment’s packages is uploaded as soon as the shipment is confirmed, including partial shipments.
Cancelled order / line eBay cancellationBuyer cancellation requests and seller cancellations are mirrored both ways, with eBay’s cancellation reason carried across.
The surface we work with
Acumatica Contract-based REST API Stock items, matrix items, attributes, warehouses, item quantities, sales prices, customers, sales orders and shipments.
Acumatica Push notifications Change capture on items, quantities, prices and shipments so updates reach eBay without waiting for the next poll.
eBay Inventory items Products and variants stored per SKU with title, description, images, item specifics and identifiers.
eBay Offers & listings Price, quantity, category and business policies per SKU and eBay site, published as listings and updated as Acumatica changes.
eBay Orders Paid orders downloaded with buyer, shipping address, line items and taxes.
eBay Shipping fulfilments Carrier and tracking uploaded per shipment, including split shipments.
eBay Cancellations Buyer cancellation requests pulled into Acumatica; seller cancellations sent from Acumatica when you cannot fulfil.
eBay Categories & item specifics Category tree and required or recommended item specifics per category and site, read from eBay so mappings stay current.
Field experience

What we learnt while integrating eBay for our users

Working notes from live eBay integrations, the things that decide whether an eBay account runs quietly, and how each one became automation inside Commercium.

Seller standards are measured on every order

eBay rates sellers on transaction defect rate, late shipment rate and tracking uploaded on time. A seller cancellation because an item is out of stock counts as a defect, and a late or missing tracking upload counts against you even if the parcel arrives. Slip below the standard and fees, visibility and selling limits all suffer.

One catalogue, many eBay sites with their own rules

Selling on eBay.com, eBay.co.uk and eBay.de from one account sounds like one integration. In practice each site has its own category tree, item specifics, currency, business policies and buyer expectations. The API calls are the same; the listing data is not. Commercium keeps per-site category, policy and price rules on top of one Acumatica item catalogue, so adding an eBay site is configuration, not another build.

Acumatica Commercium site profiles eBay.com eBay.co.uk eBay.de

Most listing errors are item-specifics problems, not data-quality problems

Your Acumatica item data can be clean and eBay can still reject the listing or bury it in search: a required item specific is missing for that category, a value isn’t one eBay recognises, the brand or identifier is left blank, a variation exceeds eBay’s limits, or no business policy is attached. Errors come back per offer when you publish.

Inventory items and offers are separate

eBay stores the product and the offer to sell it separately, then publishes the offer as a listing. A product can save cleanly and still fail to publish, so we track every SKU through to a live listing.

Tracking has to be on time and valid

eBay checks that tracking is uploaded within your handling time and that it scans. Acumatica ship via codes are mapped once to carriers eBay recognises, and tracking goes up when the shipment is confirmed, not in a nightly batch.

Buyer cancellation requests come early

Buyers can ask to cancel shortly after buying, and the request needs an answer before you ship. We surface it straight away, so a buyer-requested cancellation never turns into a defect against you.

Business policies decide postage and returns

Every eBay listing carries payment, return and shipping policies. Attach the wrong one and the buyer sees the wrong postage or return terms, so policies are mapped per site and product type.

Variation listings have limits

eBay caps how many variations and variation aspects one listing can carry. Large Acumatica matrix items may need splitting, and we decide that during onboarding rather than at publish time.

Access tokens expire

eBay’s seller consent lasts many months, but not forever. We refresh access automatically and alert you well before re-authorisation is needed, so sync never stops silently.

eBay collects the payment and some taxes

eBay manages buyer payments and, in many regions, collects sales tax or VAT itself. Sales orders are created in Acumatica with that tax kept separate, so your tax reports don’t overstate what you owe.

New accounts have selling limits

New eBay accounts can only list a set number of items or value each month. A bulk first upload can hit the limit halfway, so we pace listings and show which ones are waiting.

Working notes from our integration team, we update this section as eBay’s requirements change.

FAQ's

eBay + Acumatica questions, answered

Technical questions about how the two platforms sync, and general questions about running on Commercium.

Can Commercium create products on eBay from Acumatica?
Yes. Commercium lists Acumatica stock items and matrix items on eBay in the right category, with item specifics, images, identifiers, business policies and multi-variation listings.
How are eBay orders created in Acumatica?
Paid eBay orders are created as Acumatica sales orders with the order type, customer, branch and warehouse agreed during onboarding. The eBay order number is stored on the sales order and eBay-collected tax is kept separate.
Do eBay buyers need to be created as individual customers in Acumatica?
Not necessarily. Orders can be posted against a single eBay customer account or create a customer per buyer, depending on how you want to report on eBay sales. We agree the approach during onboarding.
Can Commercium help new eBay sellers?
Yes. Commercium works with businesses during onboarding to prepare product data, connect systems, configure mappings and establish operational workflows.
Can I connect more than one seller account of eBay using Commercium?
Yes, you can add as many seller accounts as you want while remaining on your same plan using Commercium. You only upgrade when you cross your plan’s order limits.
What are the next steps to connect eBay to Acumatica using Commercium?
Book a demo so we can scope your eBay sites and flows. Make sure your eBay seller account is ready, with business policies set up. Log in to the Commercium portal. Connect Acumatica through a connected application or integration user. Authorise Commercium with eBay and match existing listings. Configure categories, item specifics, prices, orders and cancellations with our team. Test every flow on real data and go live.
Which flows does Commercium sync between eBay and Acumatica?
Six: product, inventory and price (Acumatica to eBay), orders (eBay to Acumatica), shipments with tracking (Acumatica to eBay) and cancellations (both directions).
Can Commercium work with my existing eBay listings?
Yes. During onboarding, existing listings are matched to Acumatica stock items by SKU, so stock, price and orders start flowing without recreating them. New items can then be listed from Acumatica.
Does Commercium support eBay variation listings?
Yes. An Acumatica matrix item can be listed as one eBay listing with variations, within eBay’s limits on variations and variation aspects, or as separate listings where that suits the category better.
How are item specifics handled?
Acumatica item classes are mapped to eBay categories, and item specifics such as brand, size, colour and material are filled from Acumatica attributes or item fields and matched to the values eBay recommends for that category.
How are prices synced to eBay?
The Acumatica default price, or a sales price you keep for eBay, plus an optional per-site rule such as a markup or currency conversion, updates your eBay listing price, always within the minimum and maximum you set.
How is tracking sent to eBay?
When a shipment is confirmed in Acumatica, Commercium uploads the carrier and tracking number from its packages to eBay and marks the order shipped. Partial shipments are supported.
How do cancellations sync?
Buyer cancellation requests on eBay cancel the Acumatica sales order, and lines you cannot ship are cancelled on eBay from Acumatica with a reason.
Does Commercium sync refunds or returns with eBay?
Not on this integration. Commercium currently syncs products, inventory, prices, orders, shipments and cancellations; returns and refunds are managed in eBay.
Can I sell on several eBay sites?
Yes. Each eBay site gets its own category, item specifics, business policy and price rules on top of the same Acumatica item catalogue and stock.
