What Commercium automates

Shopify → The Range

Product sync

Shopify products and variants are published to The Range with images, descriptions, EANs and the category attributes The Range requires.

Shopify → The Range

Inventory sync

Available quantity from the Shopify locations you pick is pooled, buffered and pushed to every offer on The Range.

The Range → Shopify

Order sync

The Range orders are accepted on Mirakl and land in Shopify as native orders, tagged The Range, with customer notifications suppressed.

Shopify → The Range

Shipment sync

When you fulfil in Shopify, the Mirakl carrier code and tracking go to The Range and the order is confirmed as shipped.

The Range → Shopify

Refunds & returns sync

Refunds issued on The Range are recorded against the original Shopify order and returned items are restocked to the right location.

Shopify → The Range

Price sync

Shopify price, compare-at price and any price rule you set update The Range offer price and discount whenever they change.

Both directions

Cancel sync

Customer cancellations on The Range cancel the Shopify order lines; items you cannot ship are cancelled on The Range from Shopify.

How it works

From demo to a live Mirakl channel on Shopify

Seven steps from the first conversation to a controlled go-live: Mirakl API credentials, Shopify and Mirakl connections, catalogue, pricing and operations mapping, then a verified test before you go live.

Step 1 of 7

Book a demo & scope the setup

Tell us what you sell, which Mirakl marketplaces you're on or planning to join, and how your Shopify store is set up. We walk through the whole integration on a live call and show you exactly how Shopify and Mirakl will work together.

Which flows you need: products and offers, inventory, price, orders and shipment
How Mirakl orders should land in Shopify
Marketplace pricing and stock policy, including safety stock
Plan category confirmed before you subscribe
Step 2 of 7

Get your Mirakl API credentials

Mirakl gives each seller API access from their seller account. You'll need three details to connect: your API key, your Shop ID and your marketplace's base URL. We tell you exactly where to find each one so nothing is missing.

Log in to your Mirakl seller account and open your profile (top right corner)
Go to the API Keys tab, generate a new key and copy it
Note your Shop ID, shown in the top left corner of the dashboard
Note your base URL, which is your Mirakl seller login URL (for example, https://yourmarketplace-prod.mirakl.net/)
Keep credentials in one place. We never ask for your Mirakl password.
Step 3 of 7

Log in to the Commercium portal

Go to the Commercium portal at app.mycommercium.com.
Enter your email address and password.
Click Log In.

After logging in, you'll land on your Commercium dashboard. The left sidebar includes Dashboard, Products, Sales, Integrations, Tools and Support.

Commercium dashboard
Step 4 of 7

Connect Shopify in Commercium

Shopify is your source channel. Your products, stock and prices come from here, and Mirakl orders are created here.

In the left sidebar, click Integrations.
Switch to Available Integrations.
Click the "All" toggle in the top left corner.
Type Shopify in the search bar on the right.
Search Shopify in Available Integrations
On the Shopify card, click Connect as a source channel and fill the details.
Connect Shopify as a source channel Shopify connection details
In the Channel Name field, enter a name for this connection, such as "Shopify Main Store." This name is only for your reference inside Commercium.
Enter your Shopify store URL and click the green Connect button. You'll be redirected to Shopify to approve access for Commercium.
You'll be returned to Commercium, and the connection will be validated immediately.

Once connected, Shopify appears under the Active Integrations tab.

Step 5 of 7

Connect Mirakl in Commercium

In the left sidebar, click Integrations.
Select the Integrations tab.
Switch to Available Integrations.
Click the "All" toggle in the top left corner.
Type Mirakl in the search bar on the right.
On the Mirakl card, click Connect.
Connect Mirakl
In the Channel Name field, enter a name for this connection, such as "Mirakl Marketplace." This name is only for your reference inside Commercium.
Enter your API key, Shop ID and base URL from Step 2, then click the green Connect button.
The connection will be validated immediately.
Mirakl connection validated
Choose which sync flows you want live and how often each one runs.
Review the sample data. Commercium pulls a sample of your offers and recent orders so you can see real data before anything is published.

Nothing is published to Mirakl until you switch product sync on, so you can review everything first. Once connected, your Mirakl channel appears under the Active Integrations tab alongside Shopify.

Step 6 of 7

Map catalogue, pricing & operations

We map it once so every listing and every order follows the same rules: product identity, stock buffers, pricing, order formats and shipping methods between Shopify and Mirakl.

Unique product identifier matched between Shopify and Mirakl (SKU, barcode/EAN or another field)
Inventory sync with a safety stock level to prevent overselling
Price sync so Shopify price changes update matched Mirakl listings
Default inventory for non-tracked or made-to-order products
Order sync rules: skip unpaid orders, order number format, and Mirakl order ID in Shopify order notes
Shipping method mapping between Shopify and Mirakl carriers
Email alerts for failed order syncs
Step 7 of 7

Test, publish & go live

We publish a controlled batch of products first, then run a real order end to end before the full catalogue goes live. That means the order is imported into Shopify, fulfilled, and has its tracking pushed back to Mirakl. After go-live your sync is monitored, with alerts and a retry queue you can see.

Test batch published and reviewed listing by listing
Live order imported into Shopify, fulfilled and tracked back to Mirakl as a dry run
Full catalogue switched on in controlled waves

About the platforms

Shopify and The Range, and what connecting them actually involves

One is your store: products, stock and your direct-to-consumer orders. The other is one of the UK’s biggest home, garden and leisure marketplaces, which moved from its in-house system onto Mirakl in 2026. The work of the combo sits in between.

Behind The Range marketplace

Shopify

Shopify is the hosted commerce platform behind millions of stores, from single-brand D2C sites to Shopify Plus enterprises. Products live as products with variants, stock is tracked as inventory levels per location, orders carry fulfilments and returns, and everything is reachable through the Admin API. For sellers moving onto The Range, it is already the cleanest stock and order system they own, which makes it the natural engine for a marketplace channel.

The Range

The Range is a British home, garden and leisure retailer with more than 280 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland, part of the CDS Superstores group alongside Wilko and Homebase. Its online marketplace offers close to a million products, with third-party sellers carrying nearly half of online sales. In 2026 the marketplace moved from The Range’s in-house platform to Mirakl, so sellers now manage products, offers and orders through a Mirakl shop and its seller API.

How Shopify concepts map onto The Range
ShopifyThe RangeWhat Commercium does
Product with variants The Range product per variantEach Shopify variant becomes its own The Range product and offer, grouped back together with a variant group code. We set this structure during onboarding, not per order.
Product type / collection The Range categoryShopify product types or collections are mapped to The Range’s category hierarchy, which decides which attributes each product must carry.
Variant SKU / barcode Shop SKU & EANThe EAN identifies the product on The Range and the Shopify SKU becomes the shop SKU, so orders match back to the exact Shopify variant.
Inventory levels per location Offer quantitySelected Shopify locations are pooled into one figure, with a safety buffer, and pushed per variant.
Price & compare-at price Offer price & discount priceShopify price becomes the offer price; when a compare-at price is set it can be sent as the offer price with the Shopify price as a dated discount price instead, set per account.
Metafields Attributes & value listsMaterial, dimensions, colour, assembly and other required attributes live in metafields and are converted to the exact values in The Range’s value lists.
Order, tagged The Range Accepted Mirakl orderOrders are accepted on Mirakl first, then created in Shopify tagged The Range, with notifications suppressed, the right location assigned and The Range order ID stored.
Fulfilment & tracking Carrier code, tracking & ship confirmationThe Shopify carrier is mapped to a Mirakl carrier code and tracking posts as soon as you fulfil, followed by the ship confirmation that closes the order step.
Refund & restock Mirakl refundA refund issued on The Range is recorded against the original Shopify order and items are restocked, without refunding again through Shopify since The Range collects customer payment.
Cancelled order / item Cancellation / refused lineCancelled and refused lines are mirrored both ways, with the Mirakl reason code carried across.

Field experience

What we’ve learned integrating Mirakl for our users

Notes from live Mirakl operations across retail and B2B operators, and how each lesson became automation inside Commercium.

Acceptance windows decide your account health

Mirakl orders sit in a waiting-acceptance state and are auto-cancelled if you miss the operator’s window, which can be shorter than a working day. Acceptance and late-shipment rates then feed the operator’s seller scorecard.

Auto-accept against live stock
Refuse cleanly when unfulfillable
Surface orders near the deadline
Push tracking the moment it exists
Watch acceptance and late-shipment rates
Alert the team before a KPI slips

Every operator is a separate integration wearing the same API

Sellers expect “we already support Mirakl” to mean plug-and-play. In practice each operator brings a different instance URL, API key, category tree, attribute set, value lists and carrier list. The API calls are familiar; the mapping is new every time. We keep mapping as reusable per-operator configuration so onboarding a new marketplace is days of setup, not another build.

One source, many operator profiles
Category, attribute and carrier maps per shop
Shared products and stock across operators

Most rejections are value-list problems, not data-quality problems

Your catalogue can be perfectly clean and still be refused: the operator wants “Navy” where you send “Navy Blue”, a mandatory attribute exists only in that category, an image must be reachable at a public URL, or an identifier type isn’t accepted. Because imports are asynchronous, you only find out after polling the import and reading the error report.

Operator category mapping
Mandatory attribute mapping
Value-list normalisation
Variant and parent-child rules
Image URL and media rules
EAN / GTIN validation
Pre-submission validation
Rejection reports and resubmission

Full feeds are expensive; deltas are fragile

Operators throttle imports and large full-catalogue pushes crowd out urgent price and stock updates. We run incremental offer updates on a fast cycle and reserve full reconciliation passes for a scheduled window.

Carrier codes are per-operator, not universal

Submitting a tracking number with a carrier code the operator doesn’t recognise means the shopper never sees tracking, and you get the contact. Each operator gets its own carrier and shipping-type mapping table.

Settlement only reconciles per operator

Commission rates differ by category and operator, and refunds and adjustments land in transaction logs at different times. We pull logs per instance and match them back to orders before anything reaches accounting.

Same brand, different country, different rules

An operator running several country marketplaces often has separate instances, currencies, tax handling, language requirements and lead times. We treat each as its own connection with shared source data.

Onboarding is a data project, not an API project

Most of the elapsed time on a first Mirakl go-live is catalogue readiness: attributes, media and identifiers, not authentication. We front-load a data audit so approval isn’t blocked by rejected products.

KPIs quietly gate your growth

Acceptance rate, late-shipment rate, cancellation rate and message response time influence visibility and account standing. We monitor them per operator and raise them as operational alerts, not monthly reports.

B2B orders arrive with a VAT invoice obligation

Many Mirakl operators run B2B alongside consumer sales, and those orders require a VAT invoice to be uploaded back to the operator before the order can settle cleanly. Commercium identifies B2B orders automatically and handles the VAT invoice upload for them.

Tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive is never one answer

When orders are written into Shopify or an ERP, some businesses need totals tax-inclusive and others need them exclusive. Commercium transforms order totals to tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive according to each customer’s preferred setting.

Working notes from our integration team. We update this section as operator requirements change.

FAQ's

Shopify + The Range questions, answered

Technical questions about how the two platforms sync, and general questions about running on Commercium.

Can Commercium create products on The Range?
Yes. Commercium publishes Shopify products and variants to The Range through Mirakl catalogue imports, mapped to The Range’s category hierarchy with required attributes, images and EANs, then creates the offer with price, stock and lead time once The Range accepts the product.
Can The Range orders be sent to my ERP?
Yes. The Range orders can be transformed and sent to supported ERP, ecommerce, OMS, WMS, accounting or fulfilment systems.
Can Commercium help new The Range sellers?
Yes. Commercium works with businesses during onboarding to prepare product data, connect systems, configure mappings and establish operational workflows.
Can I connect more than one seller account of The Range using Commercium?
Yes. You can add as many seller accounts as you want while remaining on your same plan using Commercium. You only upgrade when you cross your plan’s order limits.
What are the next steps to connect Shopify to The Range using Commercium?
1. Book a demo so we can scope your flows, shops and locations. 2. Make sure your The Range (Mirakl) shop is live and generate its API key. 3. Log in to the Commercium portal. 4. Connect Shopify through our app or Admin API credentials. 5. Connect your The Range shop and match existing listings. 6. Configure categories, attributes, offers, prices and order rules with our team. 7. Test every flow on real data and go live.
Which flows does Commercium sync between Shopify and The Range?
Seven: product (Shopify to The Range), inventory (Shopify to The Range), price (Shopify to The Range), order (The Range to Shopify), shipment and tracking (Shopify to The Range), refunds and returns (The Range to Shopify) and cancellations (both directions).
Does The Range’s move to Mirakl affect my integration?
Yes. The Range moved its marketplace from its in-house platform to Mirakl in 2026, so integrations now run on the Mirakl seller API with a shop API key. If your account was migrated, Commercium re-matches your existing listings to Shopify by SKU or EAN instead of recreating them.
How are The Range orders accepted and created in Shopify?
Mirakl orders arrive waiting for acceptance. Commercium checks each line against Shopify stock and accepts it automatically within The Range’s acceptance window, refusing only lines you cannot fulfil. Once payment clears, the order is created in Shopify tagged The Range, with customer notifications suppressed and The Range order ID stored.
How are The Range categories and attributes handled?
Shopify product types or collections are mapped to The Range’s category hierarchy. Required attributes such as material, colour or dimensions are filled from Shopify fields or metafields and converted to the exact values in The Range’s value lists.
What happens if a product is rejected by The Range?
Mirakl returns an error report for each catalogue import. Commercium reads it and shows the failing SKU and reason in the portal, so you can fix the data in Shopify and the product is resubmitted automatically.
How are prices and promotions synced?
The Shopify price updates The Range offer price. If you use compare-at prices, Commercium can send the compare-at as the offer price and the Shopify price as a dated discount price, so shoppers see the saving.
Which Shopify locations does The Range inventory come from?
You choose. Inventory from the selected locations is pooled, a safety buffer is held back, and the result is pushed to each offer on The Range near real-time.
How is tracking sent to The Range?
When you fulfil in Shopify, the carrier is mapped to a Mirakl carrier code and the tracking number is sent, followed by the shipment confirmation. Partial and split fulfilments are supported.
How do refunds and cancellations sync?
Refunds issued on The Range are recorded against the original Shopify order and items are restocked, without a second refund through Shopify. Customer cancellations close the Shopify order lines, and items you cancel in Shopify are cancelled on The Range.
