Sell on eBay
Straight Out of Shopify
Commercium connects your Shopify store to your eBay seller account and runs the whole selling cycle: products listed from Shopify with the right category and item specifics, stock and prices kept live, paid eBay orders created as tagged Shopify orders, tracking uploaded back, and cancellations kept in step on both sides.
No credit card required. Onboarding takes 1–2 hours once your details are provided.
How Shopify and eBay connect
Commercium sits in the middle, translating every record in both directions.
What Commercium automates
Product sync
Shopify products and variants are listed on eBay in the right category, with images, item specifics, identifiers, business policies and multi-variation listings.
Inventory sync
Available quantity from the Shopify locations you pick is pooled, buffered and pushed to every eBay listing, with an optional cap on the quantity shown.
Order sync
Paid eBay orders land in Shopify as native orders, tagged eBay, with customer notifications suppressed and eBay-collected tax kept separate.
Shipment sync
When you fulfil in Shopify, the carrier and tracking number are uploaded to eBay and the order is marked as shipped within your handling time.
Price sync
Shopify price and any per-site price rule you set update your eBay listing price whenever they change, within the minimum and maximum you set.
Cancel sync
Buyer cancellation requests on eBay cancel the Shopify order; items you cannot ship are cancelled on eBay from Shopify with a reason.
Need a flow that is not listed?
Extra eBay sites, more seller accounts, custom metafields or extra locations are set up during onboarding.
Talk to usFrom demo to a live eBay channel on Shopify
Seven steps from the first conversation to a controlled go-live: authorising Commercium with eBay, Shopify and eBay connections, category, item specifics, price, order and cancellation configuration, then a verified test before you go live.
Book a demo & scope the setup
Tell us how you sell on eBay today, which eBay sites you sell on, and how your Shopify store is set up. We walk through the integration on a live call and show you how Shopify and eBay will work together.
Prepare your eBay seller account
Commercium connects to your existing eBay seller account. We help you check that it is ready for an integration before anything is connected.
Log in to the Commercium portal
You get access to the Commercium portal, where connections, mappings, sync logs and alerts live for both platforms.
Connect Shopify in Commercium
Commercium connects to Shopify through our Shopify App Store app or with Admin API credentials from a custom app you create.
Authorise Commercium with eBay
You sign in to eBay and give Commercium consent for your seller account, so it can work with listings, orders, shipments and cancellations.
Configure listings, prices, orders & cancellations
We map how each record moves between the two platforms so your warehouse team sees exactly what they expect.
Test, verify & go live
Every flow is run on real data before switching on: a listing published, stock and price pushed, a test order imported and shipped, and a cancellation closed on both sides.
Shopify and eBay, and what connecting them actually involves
One is your store: products, stock and your direct-to-consumer orders. The other is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, where every listing needs the right category and item specifics and every order counts towards your seller standards. The work of the combo sits in between.

Shopify
Your storefront & stock source
Shopify is the hosted commerce platform behind millions of stores, from single-brand D2C sites to Shopify Plus enterprises. Products live as products with variants, stock is tracked as inventory levels per location, orders carry fulfilments and returns, and everything is reachable through the Admin API. For eBay sellers, it is already the cleanest stock and order system they own, which makes it the natural engine for a marketplace channel.
eBay
Global marketplace · new, used & refurbished
eBay is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, founded in 1995, with more than 130 million active buyers and local sites such as eBay.com, eBay.co.uk, eBay.de and eBay.com.au. Sellers list new, used and refurbished items, mostly as fixed-price listings, in categories that each have their own required and recommended item specifics. eBay manages buyer payments and pays sellers out, and every seller is measured against eBay’s seller standards, including transaction defect rate, late shipment rate and tracking uploaded on time.
What we learnt while integrating eBay for our users
Working notes from live eBay integrations, the things that decide whether an eBay account runs quietly, and how each one became automation inside Commercium.
Seller standards are measured on every order
eBay rates sellers on transaction defect rate, late shipment rate and tracking uploaded on time. A seller cancellation because an item is out of stock counts as a defect, and a late or missing tracking upload counts against you even if the parcel arrives. Slip below the standard and fees, visibility and selling limits all suffer.
One catalogue, many eBay sites with their own rules
Selling on eBay.com, eBay.co.uk and eBay.de from one account sounds like one integration. In practice each site has its own category tree, item specifics, currency, business policies and buyer expectations. The API calls are the same; the listing data is not. Commercium keeps per-site category, policy and price rules on top of one Shopify catalogue, so adding an eBay site is configuration, not another build.
Most listing errors are item-specifics problems, not data-quality problems
Your Shopify data can be clean and eBay can still reject the listing or bury it in search: a required item specific is missing for that category, a value isn’t one eBay recognises, the brand or identifier is left blank, a variation exceeds eBay’s limits, or no business policy is attached. Errors come back per offer when you publish.
Inventory items and offers are separate
eBay stores the product and the offer to sell it separately, then publishes the offer as a listing. A product can save cleanly and still fail to publish, so we track every SKU through to a live listing.
Tracking has to be on time and valid
eBay checks that tracking is uploaded within your handling time and that it scans. Carriers are mapped once to names eBay recognises, and tracking goes up on the fulfilment event, not in a nightly batch.
Buyer cancellation requests come early
Buyers can ask to cancel shortly after buying, and the request needs an answer before you ship. We surface it straight away, so a buyer-requested cancellation never turns into a defect against you.
Business policies decide postage and returns
Every eBay listing carries payment, return and shipping policies. Attach the wrong one and the buyer sees the wrong postage or return terms, so policies are mapped per site and product type.
Variation listings have limits
eBay caps how many variations and variation aspects one listing can carry. Large Shopify products may need splitting, and we decide that during onboarding rather than at publish time.
Access tokens expire
eBay’s seller consent lasts many months, but not forever. We refresh access automatically and alert you well before re-authorisation is needed, so sync never stops silently.
eBay collects the payment and some taxes
eBay manages buyer payments and, in many regions, collects sales tax or VAT itself. Orders are created in Shopify as paid, with that tax kept separate so reports don’t overstate what you owe.
New accounts have selling limits
New eBay accounts can only list a set number of items or value each month. A bulk first upload can hit the limit halfway, so we pace listings and show which ones are waiting.
Working notes from our integration team, we update this section as eBay’s requirements change.

Can I sell on multiple marketplaces using Commercium?
You can connect and manage multiple sales channels through a single Commercium subscription without purchasing a separate connector for each platform. Some enterprise and ERP integrations may require a higher-tier plan.
Does every order I receive on any channel get counted against my plan order limit?
For example, if you already sell through Shopify and use Commercium to connect three additional marketplaces, only orders received from those three marketplaces count toward your Commercium order limit. Your existing Shopify orders are not counted unless Shopify is also connected to Commercium as a sales channel for order processing.
Most supported platforms can be added without a separate per-connector fee, provided they are covered by your current plan category.
How frequently does data sync happen between connected platforms?
What happens when I cross my plan limit?
You can also upgrade to a higher plan if you consistently exceed your plan limits, as higher-volume plans can cost less.
Can I connect my shipping platform with Commercium?
This allows you to send orders for fulfilment and synchronize shipment and tracking information with your connected sales channels.
Can I connect my ERP and accounting software with Commercium?
These integrations can synchronize products, inventory, pricing, orders, fulfilment information, and accounting data, depending on the capabilities of each connected system.
What kind of support does Commercium offer?
The support channels and service levels available may vary by plan.
Why are there three different types of pricing plans?
Ecommerce pricing applies when your setup includes only platforms classified as standard ecommerce integrations.
Enterprise pricing applies when your setup includes an enterprise marketplace, retailer, fulfilment network, or another platform classified as an enterprise integration.
ERP pricing applies when your setup includes an ERP system such as Business Central, Odoo, Acumatica, or NetSuite.
If your setup includes an Enterprise or ERP integration, the corresponding pricing category will apply. Our team can review your requirements and confirm the appropriate plan before you subscribe.
Connect through the Commercium app on the Shopify App Store, or with Admin API credentials you approve, and sign in to eBay to give Commercium consent for your seller account. Shopify stays the source of truth for products, stock and prices, and every flow is tested on real data before anything goes live.
