Temu Releases Settlements API for UK Sellers

Temu has released a new Settlements API that allows eligible UK sellers to retrieve detailed marketplace payout information and synchronize it with their ERP, accounting or financial-reconciliation software.

The new resource gives sellers programmatic access to the transactions and deductions that contribute to a Temu payout, including fees, taxes, shipping charges, refunds, adjustments and other settlement components.

Commercium has already built settlement-sync functionality using the new Temu resource, enabling eligible sellers to automate the movement of this financial data from Temu into their business systems.

What is the Temu Settlements API?

A marketplace settlement represents the amount Temu calculates as payable to a seller after processing the transactions associated with a payout period.

The final amount deposited into a seller’s bank account may differ from gross order revenue because it can include several financial components, such as:

  • Product or order revenue
  • Marketplace fees
  • Taxes
  • Shipping-related charges
  • Refunds
  • Customer compensation
  • Seller adjustments
  • Other credits or deductions

The Temu Settlements API makes this information available to authorized systems without requiring sellers to depend entirely on manually downloaded reports.

Instead of treating the bank deposit as a single unexplained amount, sellers can retrieve the individual transactions that contributed to it.

Why settlement data matters

Importing Temu orders into an ERP or accounting system records what was sold, but it does not necessarily explain what Temu ultimately paid.

Consider a simplified example:

A seller generates £10,000 in Temu order revenue. Temu then applies fees, refunds, taxes, shipping charges or other adjustments. The seller consequently receives a net payout of £8,900.

If the accounting system only contains the original orders and the £8,900 bank deposit, the finance team must determine manually what caused the £1,100 difference.

Settlement data provides that missing financial layer.

It helps the business explain how gross marketplace revenue became the final net payout.

What sellers can automate with the new API

Using the Temu settlement resource, sellers can build automated workflows covering several accounting and reconciliation processes.

1. Retrieve payout details automatically

Settlement records can be collected through the API instead of relying entirely on finance teams to download reports from Temu Seller Center.

2. Match settlements with Temu orders

Transactions included in a settlement can be connected with their corresponding Temu orders, refunds and adjustments.

This helps sellers identify which marketplace transactions have already been paid and which remain unsettled.

3. Record marketplace fees

Temu fees and other deductions can be mapped to the correct expense accounts inside the seller’s accounting or ERP software.

4. Reconcile taxes and shipping charges

Tax and shipping-related settlement components can be mapped according to the seller’s accounting configuration and reporting requirements.

5. Account for refunds and adjustments

Refunds, credits and other marketplace adjustments can be recorded against the relevant orders or financial accounts.

6. Reconcile Temu payouts with bank deposits

The expected net settlement can be compared with the amount received in the seller’s bank account.

If the amounts do not match, the transaction can be flagged for review instead of silently creating an accounting discrepancy.

Example of an automated Temu accounting workflow

A Temu settlement integration can support the following process:

  1. Commercium retrieves the Temu settlement.
  2. The settlement is linked to its underlying orders and transactions.
  3. Revenue, fees, taxes, shipping costs, refunds and adjustments are categorized.
  4. The data is transformed into the format required by the seller’s ERP or accounting software.
  5. The relevant journal entries, invoices, payments or clearing-account transactions are created.
  6. The expected payout is reconciled against the bank deposit.
  7. Any unmatched transactions or differences are flagged for investigation.

The precise workflow can vary depending on the seller’s accounting system, business structure and preferred reconciliation method.

Which Temu marketplaces currently support the API?

The current rollout is limited to sellers operating on the Temu UK marketplace.

Temu plans to introduce the settlement capability for additional marketplaces, although availability and rollout dates may vary by country.

Businesses selling in multiple Temu regions should therefore avoid assuming that the resource is already active for every seller account or marketplace.

How can UK sellers get access?

The Settlements API is not necessarily enabled automatically for every Temu UK seller.

Sellers who want to use the resource should contact their Temu account manager and request that the settlement API capability be enabled for their account.

The seller must also provide the required authorization to the integration provider. Temu’s authorization documentation states that seller permission must be obtained before Open Platform API capabilities can be used. Temu Seller Authorization Guide

A seller planning an integration should confirm:

  • That the settlement resource is available for its UK account
  • That Temu has enabled the required API permission
  • That the connected application has been authorized
  • Which settlement fields are available for its selling model
  • How each financial component should be recorded in its accounting system

Commercium is ready to sync Temu settlements

Commercium is the first integration provider to build settlement-sync functionality for Temu’s newly released settlement resource.

Eligible Temu UK sellers can use Commercium to transfer detailed payout information into their ERP, accounting platform or another financial system.

The integration can be configured to handle:

  • Automated settlement retrieval
  • Order and payout matching
  • Marketplace-fee mapping
  • Tax mapping
  • Shipping-charge mapping
  • Refund and adjustment reconciliation
  • Accounting-entry creation
  • Bank-payout reconciliation
  • Exception and discrepancy reporting

Commercium can also connect Temu with the wider business workflow, including product, inventory, order and fulfilment processes where supported.

This allows sellers to move toward an end-to-end integration—from listing and order management through to financial reconciliation.

Reduce manual Temu payout reconciliation

Marketplace growth often creates an accounting problem that is easy to underestimate.

More orders produce more fees, refunds, taxes, shipping transactions and payout adjustments. What begins as a manageable spreadsheet process can quickly become slow, error-prone and difficult to audit.

Temu’s Settlements API gives UK sellers an opportunity to automate that process while maintaining clearer financial records.

Commercium has already built the integration layer needed to connect the new resource with ERP and accounting workflows.

Connect Temu settlements with your ERP or accounting software

If you sell on Temu UK, contact your Temu account manager to request access to the Settlements API.

Once the resource has been enabled, Commercium can help you design and automate the settlement workflow required by your business.

Whether you need to synchronize Temu payouts with an ERP, accounting platform or custom financial system, our team can map the settlement data to your existing processes.
